Hi there!

About me…

  • I’m a mom to two teenage boys

  • I’m married to a Marine Corp veteran

  • I love anime, baseball, skincare, and books and while I’m generally a bit introverted, I WILL talk your ear off about these things

  • I love a good adventure - whether it’s traveling somewhere far, exploring around town, or going on a mind sabbatical ;)

  • I firmly believe in little treat culture

My name is Jess and I’m happy you’re here! I’m a Reiki practitioner and a certified life coach specializing in mindset, self-healing, and spirituality. I’ve had the privilege to study both Traditional and Western style Usui Reiki here at home, as well as in Japan.

My full origin story is coming soon but for now, here are some fun facts about me:

Hibana is the Japanese word for spark. I chose this name for a number of reasons. When written, it is made of two kanji: 火花

The first meaning fire 火, and the second meaning flower 花. The duality of the strength, carnality, and drive of fire and the softness, renewal, and delicate beauty of flower speaks to the balance I seek within myself.

Hibana is also used to describe a moment of passion or excitement which felt so aligned with starting this business. While sparks may be fleeting, they have the potential to grow into something bigger. We all have a spark inside of us that deserves to be protected and nourished. Reiki and coaching are my Hibana.

Lastly, I chose Hibana as a way to honor my dad who has always been my #1 fan. My dad is half Japanese. He was born in Japan and adopted by an American family. He’s an incredibly hard worker, a super cool dude, and has always been someone I look up to. His epic dad lore is a constant reminder of how things will always work out and what is meant for us will always find us.

P.S. My mom is super great as well :D
